It seems one cannot upload photos directly to Instagram from an iMac or PC. When I queried this elsewhere the advise was "You can use drop box to your tablet or phone or you can post to Fb then save to your phone." Not terribly user-friendly. Anyway, someone else popped up with the suggestion to use a programme called Gramblr (http://gramblr.com/uploader/#home). Before I go that route, has anyone any experience of it? Good/bad/waste-of-disk-space or whatever???

No experience, but the terms and conditions are (as usual) a complete abdication of responsibility for anything, and to me would breach the DPA in the UK. Depends if you're happy with a firm you know nothing about having your Instagram password......

Thanks for the reply, Andy.

You actually read the T&C's? ;)

I scan read this one looking for privacy bits :). Like most people I don't normally! If one gets changed I might read it just in case...... and then carry on anyway!
