Hi guys and girls,

Could someone please confirm whether Jatayu Airlines is operational again? They are an airline based in Indonesia but they were defunct back in 2007 due to safety concerns however I did find that they were supposed to start operations again in 2013. Reason behind my question is because I have found a job posting on one of the many pilot jobs websites and the requirements are too good to be true...

I received a reply to all of my emails and I send them a bunch, even a draft of the contracts. So, who wants to go? ;)

I would avoid.. Here is some from CAPA.. It was revoked after the first flight (Proving flight) with DGCA inspector.. The plane has been sitting in BATAM, indonesia for the last 2yrs.. I dont know if another investor has taken over... 1st lesson in Indonesia.. Nothing for free.. No pay no job... You been warned...

"New Jatayu Air (Jatayu Air) is a proposed relaunch of the grounded carrier of the same name. The former carrier was established in 2000 and ceased operating in 2007 after Indonesian authorities revoked its licence. New Jatayu Air plans to base itself at Batam Hang Nadim Airport, initially servicing the domestic destinations of Palembang and Bandung. The carrier had intended to recommence services in Apr-2015, but had it's AOC revoked again for failing to comply with laws regarding the minimum number of aircraft. A revised launch date is not known. New Jatayu Air plans to operate Boeing 737-300/400 equipment". CAPA

Hello,

I got reply and also a contract sent to me. My mind was divided about it. So i kept asking some questions via mail.
Found out that the account to transfer the Money to was to a guy in India who is a pilot.

Anyway, I got a phonecall from him today and he said the he had serious doubts about my skills as a pilot because I changed my mind about transfering the money to him.
He told me that I could still join if I payed and than he just hung up the phone. I didnt get to speak anything.

Anyone of you have any experience with them ?

It is genuinely remarkable how people can read over and over again that this is a scam but persist to "chase the dream" at almost all costs.

BTW I get that some of you have been searching for that elusive first job for years, but really????

This is a scam guys...
I have contacted the Civil Aviation Authority and they told me some people are trying to be refunded but no chance.
On AviationCV they don't check anything. I already sent them an email but they can't remove an advertise straight even if it is not real...

It doesn't seem like a scam for me. Has anyone received a contract from them? I am waiting for it to see the conditions...

they also have this email: [email protected]

Why do you think this is a legitimate company? Btw they have 3 email adresses at the moment and I cannot reach them by phone.

They sent me this about their company (I am in contact with them for almost every day for the last two weeks): About us, we were the first and private airline company from Indonesia but had to ceased our operation due to certain reason and we are coming back again with our own aircraft. Initially we will start our operation in Hong Kong and Burma and will open up to few other South Asian Countries

They also sent me their company profile which I am posting you here.
I am also not sure whether this is scam or not, but they posted job advertisment for captains, first officers and trainee first officers. They require trainee first officers to pay 50% of a type rating before and 50% will be deducted from salary (2 year contract). Why would they post a fake job advertisment for captains and first officers if they don't have to pay anything?

Just contact the CAA request the list of active airline and decide :)
As a first officer rated or captain you don't receive any reply.
So I believe what they want is just money.

Well they said that they are not active yet...you are rated and they didn't give you any answer?

If you believe this scam and pay you lack the intelligence to be a pilot. Red flags everywhere, don't fall for it no matter how hopeless your situation looks.

Guys... saw a new advertisement of Jatayu on "PilotHiring"

I had contacted "Ms WUTTU" by mail and the initial Email was well constructed english wise ... however she seemed to strugle replying to following my further inquiries. Upon request of a phone number, she gave me a number in HongKong had people from HK call, appears to be engaged at all hours of the day or disengaged.
Advised regarding the phone number and asked for another one and she said they in the process of re-opening and would be in touch.

Havent heard from them since... after 1.5 Months, I found the Pilot Hiring Advert.... so applied again , lets see who answers the phone thi time

DONT PAY a CENT to this outfit. You WILL lose your money.

To Many RED FLAGS.

If you have the money for their program, then spend it better in more reliable outfit. There are better ones. Try BAA in Lithuania. At least there you know you wont get screwed. You pay and you get what you pay for.

DONT FORGET.. Indonesian DGCA has paased a new Rule
for the Expat Pilots. To work in Indonesian Aviation Expat Pilots
should have minimum of 250hrs. actual flight time on Type Rated
Aircraft.

Rules tightened over foreign pilots in Indonesia - Business - The Jakarta Post (http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/31/rules-tightened-over-foreign-pilots-in-indonesia.html)

As jetjockey said, Indonesia has had that 250 hour rule since 2013. Furthermore, there are around 800 unemployed local CPL/IR graduates in Indonesia and the DGCA will not approve foreign pilots to work in Indonesia in part 121 ops. If you're dumb enough to fall for this scam, then you deserve it for not doing your due diligence.

Hey guys,

Sorry to re start this conversation. But has anyone had any head way at all in regards to the New Jatayu Air?
I have just received and email from them as well. I haven't done anything about it because there are a lot of red flags as mentioned by you guys previously. But thought I would just ask again and see if anyone on here has actually taken up this offer or anything.
Thanks :)
