An Agusta helicopter got into resonance.
Even an emergency shutdown didn´t prevent damage - parts of plexiglass injured one of the occupants slightly.
They were training landing at cofined areas.

Must be an age thing. Policemen looking younger, confined areas looking larger........

...and it was ground resonance in a wheeled helicopter, that doesn't happen very often. It looks totalled to me, claim it on insurance and buy a new one.

Wasn't there a medevac 109 in Poland that reportedly had the same ground resonance type of accident several years ago?
Is this really a risk with any well maintained 109? What causes it?

Could be as simple as tyres or oleo pressures being incorrect!

Article (and obviously the photos) says it happened at an airfield, not a confined area.
My guess is they were practicing confined area steep approaches over an imaginary obstacle as you might do in primary training... which strikes me as an odd thing to do in a 109 - maybe a private owner?
Either way, damage is quoted at over 2 million Euros, so it's totalled.
