On Friday 28th June Heathrow broke it's year old movement record by 4 - up to 1365 movements.

All that on top of pretty shambolic work in progress and increasing restrictions making Ground Movement a nightmare for the controllers and pilots alike.

Hope your load figures match our increases, but certainly for the majority of ATCOs the job continues to grow increasing pressured.

Just to confirm...

1 movement = 1 takeoff OR landing ?? Not transiting traffic, police helos lurking about etc.?

Impressive whatever! My (simple) maths shows thats 38 landings AND 38 takeoffs every hour, assuming an 18 hour day (not a lot between 2300 & 0500?)...

NoD, you are correct.

Helicopter movements from the helipad near T4 are not counted (Only if they use the runway, which they are required to do at night), neither are helicopter crossers or as you say the police helos etc.

Ahhh, is that your excuse, HH? :D
