Just wondering if there is a market for used HF radios such as the Barrett F24? would it be worth advertising in the Av Trader if for no other reason but to recover costs for removal?

There surely would be as they are a requirement in just about all charter aircraft operations. Bound to be some crusty old aircraft needing a replacement (or spare) HF.

Thanks Mikewil, :ok:
This aircraft will probably not go back into commercial ops so will look at removing it.

YPJT - I can't seem to find a picture of this radio in Google. Is this it in here?

Barrett Communications: News (http://www.barrettcommunications.com.au/News31.html)

A mate told me only a couple of weeks back that he was looking to fit one (a new HF radio) and wasn't impressed with the $25k price tag.

You would think we could get better VHF comms and ADSB across the nation........... At places like Blackall, Cunnamulla or similar.

The old Barrett F24 makes a good boat anchor. Way too heavy now.

Squawk7700,
Yup that's the "sea anchor". Might get a price for engineering order, removal and bench test and put it on Av Trader.
