Hello,

Can anyone help? Does anyone know if it'll be the A320 or A321 for 19th August flight from Birmingham - Rome? Also if anyone knows what the reg aircraft would be? I'm hopeful of the new A321 Monarch have.

Thanks

Mods - can you merge into the Monarch thread?

chrisy08

Friday 19 August is an A320 per the Monarch site but A321's are used on Rome on certain some days.

BHX has 6 x A321's and 3 x A320's based and the aircraft rotate around the bases so impossible to say which one you will fly on at this point

Currently two of the 320's based are 2007 builds, one ex Vueling and one ex TAM and the third is a 2000 build ex First Choice/Thomson aircraft.

I have flown on one of the ex First Choice aircraft and the interior was awful but i believe they have been given a makeover since.

If you have extra cash and don't like tight spaces I would try and book the extra leg room at £15 per person (if available) per sector

Brilliant OP. That's what concerned me is the leg room, but then again it surely can't be much worse than Ryanair.

I'd prefer the A321 as I said but I don't mind the A320.

Thanks Pete
p.s. I did have a quick look for a Monarch thread but didn't see one. My bad MODs. Thanks again Pete.

Just had an email from Monarch. The aircraft I was meant to be flying on, on 26th July, MAN - TLV has been changed so my seat is changing also. I thought I was on an A320, so what am I likely to be on. I think I have moved one row forward..

The aircraft will be an A321. G-ZBAE possibly

Right, so now the flight is tomorrow, does anyone know whether it'll be an A320 or 21? If so, which aircraft number will it be?

Paully,
OAG reveal Monarch as the UK?s most punctual airline! ? Virtual Aviation (http://www.virtualaviation.co.uk/blog/2016/2/4/oag-reveal-monarch-as-the-uks-most-punctual-airline)

Seat-map shows an A320, FR24 shows an A320 so I assume subject to any last minute changes it will be an A320. However the spare 321 is usually BHX based on the remotes or over MAEL and has been used at times.

Three based A320's are:

One 15 year old ex First Choice/Thomson
Another is 8 years ex TAM
Another is 9 years ex Vueling.

I have flown on one of the ex First Choice when they first came to the fleet and they were awful, knees in your chin, tatty fabric, broken seat tables but they have long since had a refurbishment I believe.

111KAB....nice to see the truth posted instead of Monarch PR bull. The OAG "survey" was the usual OAG rubbish where they selectively pick the data to represent whatever they are trying to sell at the time...Monarch seized on it (understandably) but even people in Monarch knew what a shambles the place was at the time and were frankly amazed!

OTP is continually improving at ZB, especially at LGW were they are consistantly top of the league.

Monarch OTP at Gatwick is either No.1 or amongst the best. They also lead the table in CDA's as well.

Virtual aviation is a well established simulator company., though paully seems to have failed to notice this.

Their blog was quoting from the OAG data..
I see all the usual suspects have their knives out

I'm surprised this has not been merged with the actual Monarch thread as its 17 posts now!
