Closed for seven hours, flaps on an EVA Air B744 damaged from debris. Narrow bodies were able to continue operating on 13/31.

If you think the aviation infrastructure in Australia is bad, try the Philippines. The ILS on Rwy 24 at Manila has been out of action for over 6 months and the ILS on 06 goes out intermittently too. The ILS facilities on both runways at Cebu were out of action for years and were eventually decommissioned. All too often bits of the radar system go down in extremely busy airspace and trying to get through to ATC on the area VHF frequencies is a complete joke.
