Hey guys!

I am interested in flying with one of the East Asian Airlines (preferably China Airlines) but I will not have my ATPL. I have read on a section of CAL's website (in the Q&A section) (https://www.china-airlines.com/au/en/career/pilot-recruitment) about training with zero previous flight experience. Do any of you have any experience with their program?

It speaks of 10-12 months of basic flight training in the US and another 12 months in civil aviation pre-qualification training and aircraft-type conversion training in Taiwan. After these 2 years, trainees will recruited as 1st officers...

I am pretty interested in this program but I have heard bad reviews about flying with CAL in these forums (http://www.pprune.org/south-asia-far-east/103478-china-airlines-china-airlines-f-o-update-merged-twice-11.html). However, the postings were from 2005 so I assume that CAL's management could have changed their ways?

Finally, do you guys know about any other Cathay Pacific-like (or the previously-mentioned CAL) cadet programs in the region that will train me for the ATPL?

Any input will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance everyone!

Thats for Taiwanese Passport holders.

Expatriate pilot applicants passing all rounds of tests will be recruited as trainees.

On the website, they say that the program is for expatriates too.

Do you have experience with the training program?
