Hi Everyone!

I want to compare salaries for different airlines in Africa. Can you share information or provide a source?

Thanks!

That would be very interesting! If nobody wants to give out information on specific airlines, maybe we can at least come up with the average salaries a pilot gets in certain countries?

In Africa I found the money was not the be all and end all,

Lifestyle, safety and "job related stresses - the bank, car rego etc) play a big part.

Some parts of Africa I would move and live in a heart beat with not much cash, others I would not have a heart beat or cash to live.

737seeker :-)

Ethiopian Airlines, Monthly, expat

Q400 - B737 - B767 Basic 7000 usd. Takehome; whatever your homecountrys tax man says. (funny, in ET the B767 is treated as a narrowbody :-)

B777 - B787 Basic 9000 usd. Takehome; whatever your homecountrys tax man says

** Not exactly the same 'experience level' :-) Local pilots typically go from 0 hours (yes, first day in flightschool) to Captain in 6-7 years. Not many expats did that. Average experience level, much MUCH higher than Ethiopian Capt's. Local Captains, still upgrade much faster though........
