For you who are going to be pilot or how to get there, read this carefully

There are many options that the CPL holder can proceed to pursue with their career, however the number of intake may not be absorbed with the number of job availability. Considering numbed of aircraft delivered (in the US) until 2015 for narrow body and above with the total of 5580 Major carrier, 1221 national and regional totaling 6800 commercial aeroplane, with assumption of average minimum crew of 10 pilot per aircraft, this requires at least 68000 pilot, and it is aligned with the pilot employability chart for major carrier. What about alternative entry, the remaining unscheduled and charter operations (from GAMA 2015 data) aircraft delivered worldwide for Business jet and turboprop accounted for 28119 aircraft, with the estimate population in the US about 50%, there are about 14000 aircraft with estimate of 4 pilot per aircraft, will requires 56000 pilot that may be used to gain your career path, there are hopes, its just how to find the way to get there.

Martin, good point, The chart was not uploaded as i copy the link, the data was taken from US Statistic 2015 and FAA licensed pilot registeted, I enter for 10 years only, so the written of aircraft is not part of equation yet. . The point is ATPL + CPL pilot over 250k and employment in the airlines is 70k, also the CPL holder steeply decline as the FAA or employer in part 121 or scheduled airlines mostly requires to have 1500 hrs. So the prediction on whatever manufacture publish is not 100% correct, I have been gathering data in Europe at least 3 flying school have over 200+ Un employed pilot so sad..

present, aviation helps sustain 58 million jobs and $2.4 trillion in economic activity. In 20 years’ time we can expect aviation to be supporting around 105 million jobs and $6 trillion in GDP,” said Tony Tyler, IATA’s Director General and CEO.

In Europe IFR flights are expected to grow at around 2.2% each year. Plenty of opportunities for pilots. With over 10 Million IFR flights expected per year.

as a non native English speaker I have to pardon myself, I just don't understand what the author of this thread is trying to say. I sort of thought I have a good grip on it, but that last post just simply blew me away..
