Just noticed a media release today from Alliance Aviation suggesting they would be adding 3 aircraft (1xF100 & 2xF70) to their fleet.

I wonder if if has anything to do with the Virgin partnership announced.

Has anyone heard anything further?

With ATRs and Ejets going, put two and two together and it is obvious Alliance will become to Virgin what Cobham are to Qantas.

Alliance have managed to get MTOW under 20 tonnes, so they don't need screening

I read in Australian Aviation that Alliance have delivered refurbished F100 to QantasLink? Will these be operated by Network and Do they have the refurbished interior like the 717s?

Does anyone know what Alliance's F50 Vh-fko has been doing for Virgin flying between Bankstown & Brisbane?

Vincent were about to start Bankstown to Archerfield pax services using Saabs when they fell over 2 years ago.

Could an F50 get in & out of Archerfield with a full load ?

Following this placement, Austrian Airlines AG is a 12% shareholder in Alliance.

Both the aircraft and the engines will be funded from operating cash flow and not funded by debt.

An interesting contradiction? I would have thought the ASX notification should have advised the acquisition was funded by equity and cash flow?? :=

The aircraft are expected to come from Austrian Airlines fleet as they replace the F70/100's with E-Jets. Alliance purchased the entire Austrian F70/100 fleet late last year.

Network are expected to get 3 x F100 via Alliance of which the first has already arrived in Perth (VH-NHA)

Alliance also had a delivery of an F100 on 6/7 in Brisbane which has become VH-UQW

Network/QLink are expected to replace F100's with B738's on WA routes.

Alliance has taken over some of the VA Qld. routes (Brisbane to Emerald) and is expected to use F70/100 depending on demand.

Does anyone know what ever happened to the "Strategic Partnership" between VARA & Alliance that was announced in February?

I noticed in a media article a few months back that "they are still working on the final details" but hadn't seen anything further.

The silence for 6 months seems strange so wanted to see if i had missed anything

I imagine that the guys are getting all the documentation together to lodge with the ACCC. I'd expect that they're going to want to see a lot of proof that it is absolutely necessary as it could reduce competition in the sector a lot. Perhaps there will be more details when Virgin releases their full-year results next Friday?

Looks like Virgin and Alliance have finally signed the deal!

Do Alliance still have most aircraft parked Fri-Sun ?

As with most FIFO based charter companies, most of their work is Monday-Friday, so yes, most their aircraft are on the ramp on weekends.

Does anyone know what price Qantas would have paid Alliance for the 3 F100 they purchased out of the Austrian Fleet?

Last year Alliance sold 2 x F100 to Virgin for ~A$15m (7.5m each) - this seemed a little high so my guess is somewhere around the $5m each for this sale.

Interested if anyone else has a better guess.
