Lufthansa is re-organizing its pilot training. According to a report by German daily FAZ, future trainees will have to pay for the full training. So far, about half was paid for by Lufthansa. The airline wants to lower training fees to just under 100k euros. Full loans will be available.
All the training facilities will be consolidated in the „European Flight Academy“ (EFA): Bremen flight school, Airline Training Center in Phoenix and Swiss Aviation Training. Also Frankfurt based Pilot Training Network (PTN) will be part of EFA, which educates paying cadets not destined for LH. PTN will be adjusted to LH standards, the airline said.
