Hi guys

First post here so go easy! :)

I studied 8 of my A licence modules back in 2009 on my apprenticeship.

I was foolish not to continue with them at the time due to other circumstances. I have been with a 145 organisation for 8 years now.

It used to be 5 years and they dropped off but I heard somewhere it went to 10 years.. is this true?

Thanks in advance

The validity date has changed, however you would need to discuss with the CAA if there were grandfather rights applied to examinations passed before the ruling came into effect.

FWIW you can find the info in 1149/2011

Article 7 point 8 as follows:

‘8. For the purpose of time limits contained in points 66.A.25, 66.A.30 and Appendix III of Annex III (Part-66) related to basic knowledge examinations, basic experience, theoretical type training and examinations, practical training and assessment, type
examinations and on the job training completed before this Regulation applies, the origin of time shall be the date by which this Regulation applies.

so this one kicked in 31 July 2012 and the 10 Years for Basic Certs gives you 31 July 2022
for type certs/OJT was July 2015
