Small to medium sized airline that was purchased by Air Berlin several years ago.

Air Berlin used to use them to operate flights due to lower labour costs. I know flights were marketed as Air Berlin for the last few years but are LGW still operating legally as a separate airline under their own AOC or have they now been completely swallowed up into Air Berlin ?

I've had a look around the web including various spotter sites, wikipedia and the Air Berline website but can't get a conclusive answer. If anyone can give a knowledgable answer I would be very grateful.

Their operating licence was still in effect as of February (date of latest update on the LBA site) - see list here (http://www.lba.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/Formulare/B1/B11_Genehmigungen/Merkblaetter_Info/B1_LstLU.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=44).

Still independent operator, but hardly ever operating under their own codes.
LGW resides in Dortmund while Air Berlin is in Berlin and Düsseldorf.

All the Air Berlin Dash 8s are operated by LGW in Air Berlin colours. So yes, they still exist.
