A Masters golf, beer soaked evening's question. How much extra per Uk tax payer would it cost to swop the Red Arrows hawk for Typhoons?

Wont get into our debate with comparing it to per refugee / immigrant

How much extra per Uk tax payer would it cost to swop the Red Arrows hawk for Typhoons? That would be a great sight.

But sadly there are no airworthy examples any more.

Kermit Weeks has a Tempest and a Typhoon in various stages of restoration to airworthy status.

Kermit has a Tempest II with a Centaurus and a Tempest V with a Sabre, but no Tiffie as far as I am aware.

Oops. You are right. I mixed up the aeroplanes I was thinking about. I had been googling Typhoon restorations and forgot that most of the results were for Tempest restorations.

There is something to be said for not putting the front-line fighter on formation display but leaving it to a solo act.

Consider the Snowbirds here in Canada. Great performance with the Tutor followed by an aggressive display by the CF-188.

Then look at the USA. Awesome displays from the Thunderbirds with the F-16 and the Blue Angels with the F-18...But a solo demonstration after of those types just doesn't seem the same.
