A Jet Ranger en route to a rescue on Mount Rainier crashed yesterday afternoon, but all three aboard walked away unhurt. The B206-B3 went down at the 8,800-feet level of the Carbon Glacier at about 4 pm.
A Mount Rainier National Park spokesman said "the helicopter hit the slope, spun around and then landed nose down into the slope."
The pilot and two rescuers were not injured, and the two rescuers planned to hike more than 400 feet up the mountain to continue their efforts to rescue a 19-year-old climber injured ascending one of Rainier’s most challenging routes.

Two more teams of two rescuers were being flown up the mountain this afternoon, where they planned to carry the injured man on a stretcher to the 8,900-foot level, where a Chinook can pick him up and take him to Madigan Army Hospital.
