It was a PA42 Cheyenne and went down only a few hundred metres south of the threshold of 03 at LLSD. (which has an over the water final). It appears from eyewitness reports that props weren't turning, gear up, controlled ditching. Both commercial pilots were only lightly injured

Well, I guess if you are comparing to a B-777, the 9 pax / 2 crew, 11,200lb MGTOW, twin turbo-prop PA-42 Cheyenne IS a light twin.
