Hi jetjockey

I also asked the same question 4 weeks ago. No much feed back except that it was not something to consider. No allocation fee, and Hong Kong is extreme expensive to live. Salary wise is also not a go condering the living standard overthere. The A300 is again an old aircraft and you fly during night. I decided not to submit my application and to stay in Europe.

Good luck with your decision.

AHK FO salary is around 10k USD. HK tax on that is around 10% depending on your family status.

Bond must be signed - 3 years/100K USD
After the 3rd year FO's receive 15K USD per year gratuity + a slight increase in salary.

Staff travel is provided after 6 months on CX, KA, KLM, DL, ANZ.

Good roster : 8 days on, 6 days off

It's all night flying. 45 hours per month on average.

AHKs A300s are an old design but are the last ones off the production line. they are reasonably maintained.

approx 5 years as FO before upgrade.

interview is fair. selection process involves: Tech Quiz, SIM, Interview, Medical

Yes, but if you come from Europe there is not much commuting around, especially if you are 6 off. For people living closer this might be indeed a good outfit.

You're in luck dboy. no one has invited you for an interview, so no need to worry about long commutes to europe.

you will get a HK ATPL based on your ICAO lic, and will sit Air Law x2, Human Factors, Aircraft Tech and perf exam.
sim profile pretty standard, usually done in the 747. Take off with engine failure, single engine go around, visual circuit to land.

Do a lot of guys commute from Australia and do they commute within the 8 days on, ie the first and last of the 8 days on.
