No idea, but I'm not sure it's relevant to this story anyway.

The version of events being told in the French press is that the Mother had a ticket for the Air France flight, the child (4 years old, not a baby, possibly being adopted) didn't. They both openly went through some "checks" of some sort at Istanbul ( they may well have been in transit there ). According to some reports she then tried to board the AF flight with the child in "open sight" but was denied boarding at the first attempt. It seems the mother then went away from the gate area, put the child in the bag, and at the second attempt got past the gate staff and crew and onto the Air France flight.

This is nothing really new. In the early 80īs a flight to Berlin was correctly closed with 100 heads on board. Before pushback, the captain called in and was very upset, saying the cabin crew headcount was 104, which was not legal with two cabin crew on a 1-11. Bridge was moved on again, it was found out that some Turkish women had carried babys in their bags in order to save the fare. Which was very stupid, as on Internal German Services infants travelled free. Every flight with Turkish People was a adventure,
to say the least.

I was in a queue at CDG when an 'African' lady in full native dress (long, flowing, robe) was removed from the queue and taken to a room where they discovered the carcass of a goat slung between her legs.

...or the two ladies who attempted take a "sleeping (http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2010/apr/06/women-arrested-dead-relative)" relative to Berlin out of Liverpool. People smuggling, dead or alive appears to be a worldwide problem.
