Hi . I have a question about chest infections and how they affect your chances of getting you class 1 medical for flying proffesionally.
Background is that I get a cough preety much every winter ranging from just a nornal cough to a chest infections to pneumonia needing hospitalisation. It normally lasts about 2 /3 weeks. Im 20 now and for the last few years they have becone less frequent and haven't been hospitalised for one for 5 years.
Will this affect my chances of getting a medical?
Thanks a million for any help.

"Cough" "Pneumonia" "Chest infection" are sometimes used liberally by health care professionals.

I suspect, at aged 20, the index of suspension for anything nasty would be low. (but consult your doc blah blah.)

I should imagine that your authorising doc would be interested in frequency, duration, breathlessness, wheeze, hospitalisations and how your cough has affected your ability to function (work etc.)
