Multiple websites have multiple different numbers.

Anybody have any idea what it is? Also what are they capping utilities at?

I hate to start a new thread about ek but I've done the search and I can't find it.

Yes I've heard all the crap. Yes I've read all the threads. Yes I've talked to friends that worked there and their reason for leaving.

Thanks in advance.

The one American going to the middleast instead of away from it. Lol.

171,900 AED per annum. This is all in. No further allowances for utilities etc. Can be paid monthly or a six monthly advance.

The housing allowance is a slap in the face with a fecked fish thats been too far fecked on too many feckers.

No proper/serious updates for about 3 years, which means you're FURTHER behind the rent curve, and the allowance always has been 20k - 50k per year behind the market.

If you're single and will stay single (promise me you will) - it might be a possibility.

If you're wife n kid ('s) are coming do NOT ever EVER move from company housing, unless:
You are willing to move into the Dubai property boom.... And drop a 50% deposit on an overpriced apartment....

Bwahahahahahhahahah...

Is there any Bagonair slaves can remind us how this will play out :D

Emirates are about to hit a major crew shortage I wonder if this may cause a revision

Didn't realize it didn't include utilities. Any idea how much that runs a month for a 2 bedroom apartment?

Was looking at apartments in JBR that are running about 170k AED.

Any idea how much 1st year pay really is?

Yes I'm married with kid. I'll have to see what housing is versus moving to JBR.

I strongly suggest that you consider moving into company provided housing first. Then once you've figured the location of schools, and the availability and cost of alternatives, then think about the possibility of opting out. Just my two cents worth.

You can expect to pay around AED 1000 to AED 1500 per month on utilities on an apartment in JBR.

If you're looking at apartments leasing for around AED 170k per year, you will be WAY out of pocket in subsidising all the extras...

Included in that figure (and I'd have thought 2,000 more realistic for 2 people and a baby) is the housing 'fee' which is 5% of your annual rent, paid monthly. Comes out at 700Dhs amonth if you use any water or electricity or not.

You will also probably have to pay an agent 5% for..... Well they don't do much really. Showing you the property and printing the contract I suppose. Another 8,500 Dhs gone but that is a one off unless you move again.

I'd set a budget of 150,000 if you want the allowance to cover everything. Enough for an okay 2 bed apartment or a really, really nice one bed. Weren't planning any more children were you?
