..Did we just see you on the Airline Pilots forum ??..

..Donīt know much about getting a license in South Korea (or elsewhere), but no airline is going to hire you, sorry..And if you lie about it you may end up in jail..

..Good luck !!

Nope, still can't be a commercial pilot with a U.S criminal record.

Interestingly, There is no section asking about criminal history in the Korean version of the 'The application form for Airmen medical certificate.'

It turns out Korea has it's own department that issues and manages pilot licenses and medicals separately from the FAA and it doesn't ask about criminal history at all on its airmen medical certificate.

However, a criminal records check is necessary at the recruitment stage.

Now my question is: does expunging a criminal record allow me to pass the background checks during recruitment?

One thing is for certain, whether a criminal record is expunged or not it will surface during a background check, and so I need to explain my criminal history upfront.
