Hello everyone,

I've been wondering what is the difference between these 3 radiotelephony documents?

ICAO4444
ICAO9432
CAP413

I want to read and improve my RT knowledge and I'm not sure which one I should study.

Which one you would suggest?

Thanks in advance.

CAP413 is published by the UK CAA and deals with RTF primarily for the UK airspace.

It does explain those areas where the UK departs from ICAO procedures etc.

The other two are ICAO docs.

Decide.......

So, it makes more sense to study on other ICAO documents.

Do you know what is the difference between those other two documents?

If it helps, 413 is the only document that ICAO follows rather than the other way round.

I'm not familiar with 413 but 4444 is not an RTF document, it is an ATC document that explains concepts such as separation minima and procedures for controllers. 9432 is strictly about radiotelephony for all aviation personnel.

Just my two cents, speaking from six years experience teaching ATC and pilot ground schools.

Recommend CAP413 for a pilot.
