Many years ago (20+) as a nipper I was given a book by my Grandfather called "Into the Silk". (author not known)

It was the story of the Irving parachute and the stories of how it had saved lives thus allowing the savees into the Caterpillar Club. It also went on to talk about the Martin Baker ejection seat which also used the Irving parachute.

This was the very first aviation related book I'd ever read and it captivated me completely, I must have read it 20 times!

Anyway what I am trying to say is that I no longer have this book, it must have got lost during my many moves, but if anyone knows of this book and where I might be able to get a copy I would be eternally grateful as it was this book that got me hooked on flying.

Please feel free to mail me via my profile or post here.

Thanks in anticipation.
