What do you mean? That person was flying from HK to SFO. So clearly, it is available in HK.

Back in the day...

CX deployed wives of CX employees as Flying Mum's to escort children, not necessarily theirs, on the children's return to HK/UK or wherever the demand was, at the start and end of school terms. I can't recall the ratio of Mum's to children though.

Started way before 2006.

Started way, way back in the 80's. Ratio was about 1 Mum to 7 kids and was a very popular service. Initially the kids were almost exclusively UK nationals at boarding schools, then lots of HK Chinese kids attending UK schools, then finally a smattering of Mainland kids doing the same. Kids had to be between the ages of 7 and 13 I recall.

No-it started in 1976-overseen by Staff Dept birds-and became a bit of a jolly-some of the "Mums" appointed, had in fact-no kids at school abroad (or any where-in some case)-just an opportunity to get to U.K. or OZ.
