On a recent HR tour around Dubai, HR weren't able to show us a 2 bedroom pilot apartment (F/O accommodation), instead they only showed us a villa in Mayden Heights.

Where are new F/O's to the company currently being allocated accommodation at the moment, and does anybody have any photos? Also roughly what is the sqft size?

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share them in this thread..

Thanks :ok:

Why can't you just answer the guys question?
Is it necessary for you EK guys to troll every thread started by pilots who are looking for information on EK?

You know what Mister Warning? You are right! Which is why I'm doing research and asking you guys for an honest opinion.

Maybe you could provide some more relevant information rather then being a sour grape?

I've been out of company accommodation for a long time but I've never heard anyone complain about the standard of apartments for first officers. They seem to be relatively spacious and located centrally. The villas, on the other hand, are a different story.

A bunch of FOs have lately been given apartments in Oud Metha Area. It's a possibility I guess. Apartments are big and spacious, but the building being only a couple of years old is already falling apart. Multitude of maintenance issues. The area, while very well connected is not impressive at all.

With prices nowadays I would strongly recommend getting the allowance from day 1.

Everything is metric here; I don't think you'll find square footage references.
I hope that helps.

I've been offered a 3 bed apartment in Abraj Al Mamzar building, anyone got any info/pics on this one? Would appear to be on the 18th floor of the building (which has 18 floors) let's hope it's a decent view......

I would also recommend taking the allowance. You will get a better apartment with that than what the company would give you.

Ahh right when I looked for apartments to rent everything was in sqft. So what are the 2 bedroom apartments in sqm then? Just trying to get a size comparison to what I live in now.

Still haven't seen any pictures. Surely someone has some?

Al Mamzar... Sounds like on the "border" to Sharjah. Wouldn't be my first choice. You'll find some infos on the HP of the developer. Abraj Al Mamzar | Sultan Real Estate (http://www.sultanrealestate.ae/property/abraj-al-mamzar/)

Not the best location (certainly not Jumeirah standard). Take it and move out when you can.

It depends what building. I would say 130 sqm plus. Have a look at dubizzle, the smallest apartments are in the range of 120 sqm.

Factor 10x from square meters to feet, slightly underestimates...

You get a free BBQ if you live near enough to certain buildings ;)
Poor building standards will remain for 50 years to come in Dub or the place we can't mention.
