Hopelessly having a smelly toilet in ATCX for the last 18 years but surprisingly to have the same situation in the new CAD headquarters in the last two years. Where is the money spent on toilet vent? I strongly believe DG and DDG's toilets are nowhere near to ours.

Fix it!

Everyone knows that the DG and DDG's toilets toilets do not need a vent, their #$%^ does not emit any offensive odor.

CAD Headquarter 6/F (top floor) toilet equipped with modern automatic toilet paper dispenser. They have been evaluating it for nearly three years and their toilets are fresh in smell. Look at the toilets in other floors, manual paper dispenser and very often the paper stuck at the exit. And of course the toilets are smelly and are always under maintenance.

Air Traffic Control Complex toilets are even worse. The toilet paper dispensers are antique type, the lever is always wet that hygiene is a big problem.

How come there is such a difference in these places while we are using taxpayers' money for the same purpose. Are the people at 6/F in CAD HQ are 4-legged elite and the rest of the floors and ATCX are bunches of criminals?? Don't forget we allow you to step on us so that you have this position today.

It is very handy to spend taxpayers' money this way. No wonder we have such a broken new ATM system. By the way, where is the electronic toilet bowl in DG's bathroom?

Like you said, they built their own bathroom and toilet facilities for private use, they built hotel rooms for what-if accident investigator, they have dancing room for small circle community, big big big TV in all the chief, assistant director, deputy director and director's rooms for "monitor" the stock market, what else they cannot do in their empire building. They are number one in doing this wasting taxpayer money business, other staff benefits at different floors are neglected. I wonder they might want to lock them up at 6/F.

Point taken White None.
A few of the serious ATC topics seem to have degenerated into an indecipherable gobbledygook lately, thanks to one or two individuals with a range of agendas.

But seeing as the topic has been raised, the whole ATCX building is an absolute disgrace with the toilets particularly displaying just how bad a HK Gov building can be let go.
As the building often hosts international dignatories and the occasional command course visit, is this REALLY the image that the Transport and Housing Bureau is happy to portray? It is obvious that any plumbing fixes are purely superficial- a week later the problems return. The cleaners try their best but take a look at how the varnish has been stripped from the doors because of the incessant use of bleach to try to fix the wretched smell.
As somebody mentioned, the new HQ building is no better already. Whole rows of urinals roped off as unserviceable. On one floor they have been like that on and off for a year now- and this a brand new building!!!
THB, you are a disgrace was with your penny pinching, CAD you're a disgrace with your misplaced resources.

I would say the CAD toilets pretty much sum-up exactly the state of Aviation in HK right now.

guys, ask yourself this question "is anything that's built under government instruction turned out OK???"

-the high speed rail delay and over budget
-the bridge to macau is over budget and delayed and with its primary man-made island floated 6-7m before it was even completed

you guys should be glad your toilets aren't falling apart yet, just live with the stench, that's what china is like, sadly get used to it

Here is what LEGCO is going to discuss in the Panel on Economic Development on 26 this month:

`The Administration will brief the Panel on the proposed creation of a Deputy Director Post in the Civil Aviation Department to strengthen its senior management to provide stronger administrative support and better resource management and co-ordination in the Department.'

Looks like we need more toilets. :E

Sorry boys and girls, the money for making functioning toilets for junior staff were spent on video wall, excessive wall LCD, view gallery, education path, dancing room, someone's private toilet, hotel-styled bedrooms, .........etc. A functioning toilet for so many junior staff is just too costly, please go to Dragonair House for taking a dumb but you can still pee on the plant but not on the toilet, please. Alternatively, don't drink too much water.

By the way, the big big big big TV in Chief, ADG, DDG, DG are still there to serve them cable TV so that they can monitor the stock market. They said they used those TV for monitor airport movement, this is a decent crappy excuse.

The DDG would take over DG's private toilet in May, hope he will make frequent use of this facility paid by taxpayer's money. Err, the new DDG will join us very soon, the shoe polishing engineer might build an electronic toilet for this new watchdog.

Hey management, how come the toilet is such messy these days in ATCX. Can the one who built DG toilet look into the toilet problem in ATCX? Isn't it the duty of the new DDG??? DDG(SD).....(Sanitary Duty) :E
