According to spotters. net, the 777 in EK colours will be making a return to IAH mid next year, maybe the cargo loads have improved? Where's Dontheoraclepizmeov when you need him? I think I might even bid for it, so I can swap onto something I actually want to do :E

Recent washup they said the plan is still to have all USA destinations served by the 380. We shall see what tomorrows plan is.

Palace for Europe.

I believe the plan going forward in the next year is to expand the freighter network across the States

Who would have thought you would hang out on a spotters site Moanarch. Personally I think the tractor should take all the flying. I like days off :E

Emirates To Switch IAH To B77W From 01JUL16 — Civil Aviation Forum | Airliners.net (http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/6576340/)

Maybe I'll believe it when it becomes official...oh wait, the fall from grace for the A380 will never be made official. Enjoy your days off donpizmeov :ok:

You couldn't bring it forward a bit could you. Could help with leave too.

I don't think the A380 is full to IAH or DFW, hence the change.
Nothing to do with freight (it's OK I'm Boeing).
It's just not paying it's way, better value elsewhere.

According to that thread, if I recollect, the avg LFs on IAH is 62%, DFW 58%, yield being possibly higher on DFW.

This is an oil & gas story. The co moving pieces on the board.

CAPA has an interesting graph, EK up-gauged to A380 in 2014 October, when even PFLs on a 77W were suffering. I suppose their network planners think different.

Jennifer will be happy to know, EK is flooding local produce sections with fresh pitted dates and yummy exotic nectar.

PLFs/yields aside EK planes definitely are carrying lot of dried fruits and fresh juice.

God I wish you guys would stop your pissing competition.... the reality is the 380 goes where EK wants it to go, and that, is where it is most needed, the other thingy goes to where all the 330's used to go and where the company has thin routes... personally, you can have IAH forever, once NASA and.... oh yeah that's it, is done halas all yours.

This lot are pretty good at putting bums on seats I just deliver them...

Hmmmm oil $35/barrel. 3 friends in oil sector fired for Christmas, 2 been offered new contracts. Suspect Trip will have IAH until the price goes north of $70 and they start pumping again.

Oil 25 - 70 = 777 due to no business in IAH
Oil 70 - 120 = 380 due to good business in IAH
Oil 120 + = 2x 777 due to good business in IAH and Kerosin price eventually grounding a lot of 380s

It all comes down to economics

Shnowzer Is on the right track.

This has nothing to do with dick swinging or A v B, it's simple number crunching.

I have relatives in the oil business there, and it's bleak times. If you all hadn't noticed, companies and institutions pay for the majority of the punters to fly on the top deck, in various forms.

Layoffs in the majors such as Chevron, Exxon, etc is literally in the thousands. They buy the upstairs seats. That pays ALL our wages. All this filters up and down. We live in a oil industry hub. Think about it.

If EK is bleeding on a route, any route, I hope, and know, that there's someone with their finger on the button to stem the flow.
That flow affects all of us.

We'll all be bitching in a few months time about the bonus.
This is one of the decisions that "they" make to try and get us one, because they want one too.
Don't forget, it's not only us at stake, it's the dudes that look after this sort of **** as well.

We're all in this together.

Sorry Mrs M, I couldn't care less about any bonus. I just want my leave, to not have my days off stolen by the company for me to do stuff for free, and a bloody big pay rise. Oh yeah, they can stop stealing my productivity money as well.

Don't worry about "them", they'll get their bonus even if you don't. In fact, probably because you don't.

ROW HARDER, MINIONS!

DFW will go back to the B777 in February 2016.
This, however, may be temporary only, because the system shows A380 (again) for April 2016 onwards.

LAX will get a 2nd A380 in July 2016.

eagleflight you beat me to it!

IAH will lose the A388 and hence the 2x daily LAX.

DFW will likely see a mix of A388 and 77W throughout the year to tackle the 'impressive' load factors

Who is running EK now? TC would have doubled down once LF goes below 50% like he did in 2014.
