Things are continuing to get worse. Several experienced pilots had issues with JCAB medical system. One was diagnosed with major illness and is off work getting treatment; another had a 5-second gap of activity identified on the ECG at medical renewal (no other abnormals). In both these cases they took their 12 sick days and are then off the payroll and loss of all benefits.
As well as passing JCAB medical renewal, pilot must also satisfy company doctor and nurse. They frequently ask for extra tests/monitoring to be done at pilots expense which goes above and beyond requirements of JCAB medical.

In another case, a FO had his passport stolen from a locked car. As it would take 2 weeks to get a new one, FO was removed from duty. FO was not allowed to take leave days he had remaining, but was forced to take unpaid time off while new passport was issued.

As the management has changed from ex-ANA to ex-JAL, the western pilots (and FOs most so) are under threat of losing money for many problems they have no control over. Add to this the reduced pay in the 2016 contract and vastly raised rates for health insurance you have to ask yourself if its worth working at NCA.
