W7 and running the latest Firefox. Anyone getting this? "Windows cannot automatically detect your proxy settings". Driving me nuts as pages just simply wont load. Boogle tells me to set my proxy settings to "No Proxy". I want to deal direct with my internet supplier , not a proxy. Am on fibre and so no speed issues. Help welcome please I`m tearing out whats left of my hair.:confused::confused:

If the FF proxy settings are currently shows "no proxy" try toggling it to another setting & back again.

Might be worth checking to see if IE has a proxy set, as FF can pick up settings from the original browser.

Is this a personal PC, not a work PC? If the latter, it may not be possible for you to override work settings.

Its a 4 yo. HP laptop type G72. I`ve put the setting into "Use System Proxy Settings" and so far it seems to be behaving this morning.
