Hi All,

A friend recommended PPRuNe as a nice place to hang out, so I thought I'd give it a dance. I've been flying helicopters as a career for alomost 30 years and still manage to enjoy it.

It looks like there's some really good stuff here..., maybe I'll learn something after all this time.

See ya.

Welcome to the forum DesertDude. :)

Your friend was right - it's a great place to hang out and, with 30 years experience in the industry, you've got a lot to offer.
What do you fly?
What sort of ops?

Look forward to reading your posts.

Thanks Heliport,

I've been a few places and done a few things; GOM, OAS, seismic, ag, and a few others.

Stuff I've flown;

Bell: 47s, 206s, 407s, 212/ 412s

Eurocopter: 315s, 316s, 350/ 355s, 117s

Sikorsky: S58(T), S76s

and a little 500 time along the way.

If I had to choose a favorite type of flying it'd have to be extrnal load.

Welcome DD
That's an impressive CV. You'll find a good representation of the industry all over the world on the forum. Over the years (lot less than you) I've flown Bell 47 and 206, Gazelle, 350 and 355.

With your range of types, why not join in the 'NYPD - going shopping' topic? Even if you haven't flown law enforcement helicopters, you've got enough experience to give a view. Go for it!
