Careers flying light aircraft?

Hi all,

Can someone answer me the following questions...

What job prospects are there for a person who isn't looking for a career as an Airline pilot but would rather fly light aircraft, such as Flight instructor, crop spraying etc...?
What type of jobs are available in the EU for light aircraft pilots? What would the cost be to become qualified for such jobs? And what kind of salaries could one expect to earn?

An experienced agricultural pilot can expect to earn in the range of $A50-100,000 a year. Hard work, tough to get into but the rewards are there. It is also a fairly risky occupation. Obviously flying low level has it's own risks but the chemicals can take a terrible toll on the body. Cancer is a real risk.
Low timers can find it hard to get into.
Bush experience is useful, tail wheel time also.

cogy, if you're interested in 'grass-roots' aviation I reckon the best fun you can have with clothes on is flying floats. The only problem with starting out is that the insurance companyies have high experience minimums which makes it a bit difficult to get those first hours - catch 22, same old story!

There are quite a few places to do the rating throughout the world (Canada, US, Aust etc).
