Anyone gone through the process of getting CASA acceptable documentation from FAA confirming de-registration? How did you do it?

I am importing a light aircraft from US.
Aircraft has been deregistered by US owner after sale to me to allow me to register it in Australia.
CASA want "an official notification of de-registration"? They prefer I get FAA to send it directly to CASA.

CASA tell me FAA email said document all the time to them, but FAA on phone said they fax or snail mail document, not email.

Have the FAA fax them:

Civil Aircraft Register

Fax: 02 6217 1991
Mail: Civil Aircraft Register
CASA
GPO Box 2005
Canberra ACT 2601

Yes I did this in 2013

When you bought the aircraft you must have gone thru a escrow agent?

In my case they did it with the FAA and forwarded the document

No escrow with this one.
Sort of special circumstances so I did not insist on escrow.

Good idea. I will see that if I can get FAA to do that.
