I haven't been to HKG in a while, can anybody recommend some reputable places for photography/camera gear?

Thanks in advance.

Great selection of lenses, bodies and accessories at good prices. Well known amongst pro-am photographers in HK and the region. Mong Kok MTR Exit E2 - Bank Centre. Exit the station outside and walk straight. Turn left onto the first street - busy Sai Yueng Choi Street S. Shop is immediately on your left.

Hey Spanners,

Nothing to add to all the above suggestions and apologies if you Know this already but maybe others reading don't.

Haggle like a madman, especially in shops where they don't appear to haggle!

Beware the good price on what you wanted but getting slid into "hey have you seen this Lens its a doozie" They usually have a shiny item of the week to push which is often not upto Par or over the top, price wise.

Read the small print on the warranty, anything going wrong with a high price item with a HKG warranty becomes a total pain and drama negating the value of the money you saved.

GOOD LUCK :ok:

Anyone got any tips for how to place their DSLR on the airbus dash for long exposures?
Naturally it gets too much ground and not enough sky.

Ask the former GMF, HC, he was very fond of cockpit photography.

I haven't shot long exposures from the airplane, but I would think a filter (applied to the lower half of your lens) could solve your problem. Otherwise, take 2 shots at different exposures and merge the pictures with photoshop.

The problem with long exposures is that you (and the plane) are moving.
