The video link in the second article is in the wrong place as it refers to an American flight.

Fairly typical reaction to ice and related drugs.

Appears that it was a fairly major drug shipment - 1.8kg. Guess the full facts will emerge in due course.

Perhaps a medical condition or under the influence of drugs ? Unusual thing to happen. Might they have been a mule of some kind and the condoms burst ? Not nice for anyone, especially stuck in an aluminium tube 10miles above the earth.

I'm pretty sure this is how 28 days later started.

The video link in the first article doesn't have any connection with the EI incident either. Looks like The Independent is having a bad day.

So what is the story here. One pax with canine behavioural syndrome bites the hand of another, shortly thereafter snuffs it and another pax is then found carrying, seems to be the top and bottom of it all. Not exactly headline news I would have thought.

Unless

It is some kind of a harbinger of things to come .... teg checks by security and all gnashers to be carried in the hold.

I assume these condoms or whatever they ingest expand with altitude thus weakening them ?

Given the many demonstrations of the 'stretchiness' of condoms, it seems likely that the contents 'ate' their way out, or, his stomach acid ate inwards. It is possible they don't consider the quality of condoms purchased, or, take strong action to neutralise the natural acids of the stomach.
