One of the Flicker commentators opined that "The bird probably won't have the guts to do that again…." which by the look of the photo might be true. It looks like a Buzzard, but as it's in Canada it might be an Eagle of some sort ? Lucky for the crew that it didn't hit higher up as that size of bird might well have cracked the windscreen.
