Hi Everyone
I have done my CPL in Fiji. I want to to do my ATPL subjects but I heard rumors that it is not recognized in PNG.
I don't know if it's the subjects or the License. Does anyone know about doing Fiji ATPL subjects in Fiji. Your information will be helpful to PNG trainee pilots in Fiji.

To be fair, the situation is so confusing at the moment I doubt you will get the same answer from two different people in the Department unfortunately. There are heaps of guys with the subjects on things like Otters around at the moment but are in limbo. Need to do the test in the sim, don't need to do it in the sim, must be a part 121 aircraft, doesn't have to be but must be two crew aircraft, must be this, must be that etc etc. I feel sorry for the blokes as they don't know whether they are coming or going.
But I agree, ring CASA and see what they say.

Oh what a fantastic new licence we have in Australia!!

I'm so glad that after all the messing around we have all been through, I can now proudly say that my much revered Australian ATPL is now recognised in 6 states and 2 territories...... within Australia!:}:}:}:}

Not sure what you are referring to Bzzzz, the question was in relation to PNG not Australia.

What our friends in PNG do have absolutely nothing to do with what we do in Australia.

Suggest one gets a foreign ATPL and then convert it in PNG, are you suggesting that their may be a way to circumnavigate our Part 61 requirements through PNG?

I have also heard that CASA PNG require a flight test for the issue of an ATPL, in a sim or aircraft. The test can be done by an FOI or an approved Part 183 examiner.

We are talking about PNG here troppo, not Fiji. I hope Fiji hasn't become a suburb of POM like Cairns has!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Op was saying he trained in fiji. If he/she is a citizen, with local demand at the moment he should stay put.
