Hi,

Would they do that distance in a jet.

Teggun,

The first "distance" problem would be the length of the runway... but since the OP is in Belmont, I thought I would have a stir.

:ok:

I would bet $50 that it will be SYD-NAA. One of the senior management at Jetgo has been bragging to public servants for months that they already have the route.

Edit: I'll withdraw that wager (since nobody accepted it) - word from Narrabri is that they will be seeking presentations from both of the proponents before a meeting of the full council.

Hi Horiato,

Sorry about that, should have realised it was tongue in cheek, however if it is the same senior management at Jetgo that I am thinking of nothing would surprise me.

Cheers

So they couldn't make what's left of the low hanging fruit work I.e. Roma and Gladstone, but somewhere like Narrabri will be profitable?

Is the route with un-met demand and security in place at both ends.

Dubbo-Melbourne it is indeed, according to a media release on their Facebook page.

...headed "Media release embargoed until 6am Tuesday 8th September" :hmm:

GADRIVER: don't forget the Dixie Chicks.

Interesting, could be a winner bypassing Macquarie International.

Last time I travelled out of Melbourne to Dubbo it was five and half hours of travelling.

Don't jets need security?

Fieldmouse
8th Sep 2015, 09:33
Over 20 tonne needs the full enchilada of security, even if its powered by good intentions

fieldmouse, not correct.

20 tonnes & over, not over 20 tonnes needs security(no matter whether a TP or jet), however, office of transport security or whatever exactly it's called, has allowed wands to be used, in place of xray equipment at places like Essendon, for low frequency ops.

If am correct Jetgo's E135LR aircraft MTOW are exactly 20 tonnes, ie 1 kg too heavy !!!!

Eg. Australian Air Holidays uses Alliance ex MEB. F50's, F70's & F100's.

Although the F50's have same seating as a Dash 8-300, the MTOW of most F50's is 20.8 tonnes, whereas most Dash 8-300's are just under 20 tonnes.

Yep, well aware that OTS will allow it to be dumbed down, hence the hope for Narrabri. Wonder if Jetgo tries to use it as leverage at ports its already screened at if it comes off?

think of Dubbo, QF vs Rex. Rex doesn't need security with Saab 340's but when QF used Dash 8-4000's Rex got charged for security, they didn't want or need.

How many passengers does the Dash 8-4000 carry?

How many passengers does the Dash 8-4000 carry?
Depends on the operator configuration but normally around 720 :E
