Hey,
I got a job prospect from a charter company in Africa for the B1900 aircraft.they told me if I pay for my type rating I'll get a one year contract which is extendable.Pay is manageable. My question is does the B1900 type any value when applying for other jobs in the future? Is it a popular turboprop?Do the hours count towards the ATPL or not?Is it accepted as multicrew a/c back in europe?I hold a european frozen ATPL and about 200 hours.
any advice and opinion? Please help me out.

Just a handful of them in EU, mainly F, OO and PH-reg but happy to stand correct.

It's >12,500 lbs MTOW but still certificated as SPA so you should check what setup the operator's AOC has been approved for. Being Africa vs. EASA-land I would expect a bumpy ride but again there are guys better qualified than me to pass their experience on.

AFAIK there are B200 OPS all over EU that are 2-crew approved, so RHS hrs count (i.e. towards an MCC exemption) as well as LHS towards your ATPL reqs. However you still have to take your ATPL checkride in a MPA aircraft/sim.

Good luck

Keep in mind, that the B1900 Rating comes together with the B350. At least in Europe on an EASA licence. Just a differnce training required. Lot more Jobs available.

No longer so. Since 1996 they are two separate type ratings, with nothing in common.

That's what I thought as well but according to this they are the same rating:

No, it is true. Had the B350 myself in 2002 and flew also on the B1900 from 2005 for 2 years.
Even in the Licence it was showing B300/B1900.

Don't do it!

African companies are shady on their best day.

Have you spoken with the current pilots or googled their name? Not one in twenty are legit...

Just sayin,
