I am currently holding an EASA A320 type rating, completed in Dec 2013 including base training in Europe. Since then I have renewed my type rating once in Dec 2014 in Sweden. Looking now to renew again but this time in Bangkok. I haven't flown the real plane since base training. Two questions:

1. Has anyone else renewed EASA ratings in Bangkok?
2. What are the landing recency requirements - can this be done in the sim?

I have trolled the CAA websites but can't find an easy, simple answer.

Hi,

1. There are 2 options in BKK (I know about). Greend0t Aviation and Euro Asia Aviation.
I used EAA because they were a lot cheaper and also had the sim slot times that suited my arrival flights into BKK.

They both have deals with local hotels

2. Recency can be done in the sim.

All the best.

Thanks Drifter3 and Kwaiyai for your very useful inputs. I will get quotes from both companies in BKK.

Anyone out there needing to renew as well and willing to share costs? About late November?

Guys,

I recently did an A320 assessment prep with Euro Asian Aviation and can highly recommend them for sim work in BKK.

The guys over there are flexible and quick to respond.

Best of luck!
