Sad news for PNG.

George passed away in Mt Hagen last night.

One of PNG's pioneers and a true Statesman.

RIP George. Your legacy will run on for generations

Indeed sad news.

George would not be that old? I think George was Hagen Dan's son and thus a cousin to Richard, Tommy and Danny?

George was certainly one of PNG's great innovators, entrepreneurs and business men. He will be missed.

If I recall correctly, some years ago George was an unwilling participant in an aircraft accident, possibly a Piper Navaho?

All in all, a quite extraordinary family, whose contribution to the development of PNG is immeasurable.

It was a privilege to transport him once or twice while I was up there. Unexpected news indeed. RIP George...

It also must be mentioned that George survived a PA31 accident at Kiarik (PNG) in the mid 1990s were he was the only survivor of a CFIT accident.

George was a very unique man, not only in business but aviation as well.

I am sure my wantoks will lay George to rest in the manner that he deserves.

Yes, George was the sole survivor of the prang of Navaho P2-NGM at Porgera/Kiarik on 9 December 1996. Pilot Nick Lee and others were killed.
