Not sure, just got this announcement...

Melbourne Airport And we're off! The first flight from our newly opened T4 took off today. There's more to come in the next few months

Melbourne Airport has opened the doors to Australia’s newest domestic terminal, located just south of Terminal 3. The staged opening of the new Terminal 4 (T4) saw Tigerair Australia commence flights on Tuesday 18 August. Jetstar and Regional Express (Rex) will join Tigerair in the new Terminal 4 in the coming months.

Its more a "Budget Terminal" than anything else, think SIN/KUL old budget terminals. No windows, standoff bays, self service kiosks.

An improvement for Tiger passengers over the previous setup. Jetstar move in late November.

Will see next Wednesday. Interested in the traffic pattern, everything set up to go right, while t4 is left...
yes, would not take much to do better than the rollup garage door that was the terminal

Its open, at least for Tiger...very scarey as a terminal goes with no staff, all automation...last night, while waiting to DEP, there were 2 other people in the terminal, and the security booths did not have any staff...finally a person showed up. If you want to get through a line quick, this is the place. Baggage check is very, very odd...

no people, really, really odd...

Why would Tiger be going back to the old terminal?

They're there to stay.

Right now it is setup for Tiger, Virgin, and Rex

With the color scheme setup for Tiger, I cant see them going anywhere but there...

Still the same gates..

still a disaster of a waiting area...
