Hi Everyone

I am moving to Oman in the next week and was wondering where I can convert my Kenyan PPL in Oman.

I will be based in Sur so if any aerodromes are nearby that would be a great help.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Hello

There is no general aviation permitted in Oman and therefore there is no PPL licence to convert to.

(There are special circumstances when GA flights are allowed however this is not for GA recreational purposes.)

When you can take a bit of time off , you have an option to go and fly in the UAE ( I rented a 172 a few years back to do some sighseeing along the coast ) , particularly in Fujairah . A bit of a drive but if it tickles ....
Take a look :

They have some Da40/42 too .
A bit further afield but more ' pure GA ' as it's a flying club and not a school ( In Ras Al Khaimah ) : http://www.jac-uae.net/
Check this article about them :http://www.arabianaerospace.aero/unveiled-the-best-kept-flying-secret-that-s-a-little-gem.html
And that one too , in Umm al Qaiwan : http://www.oocities.org/uaqflying/main.html
Good Luck and Safari Salama
