The BBC News website is now almost entirely equipped with video clips - which autoplay - not the first one, but subsequent videos (chosen by the BBC) do autoplay.

I have amended Windows 8 and my browser (Opera), yet still the damned BBC insist on autostringing their videos to play 'continually' (once I have clicked on the OK set by my browser).

I cannot find any option on the BBC website (despite Googooing).

Any ideas?

Don't click on any link with a Video. Find another newssource.

I've stopped using the BBC as my news source because of those videos. They have also started adding ads at the beginning of every video (for IPs outside the UK).

Anybody got any suggestion apart from that submitted by ExXB?

I`m currently in Spain, just had a look at BBC news site and mine don`t autoplay even when hovering over an article. I do have Adblock installed and Ghostery. Maybe they are preventing them playing.

The autoplay only occurs after the first video has played.

This 'feature' isn't only on the BBC site, so it might be within Opera?
