A bit of a long shot perhaps, but I wondered if anyone knows the registration of the Royal Navy Rescue Sea King that did a low level pass at Shoreham Airport this afternoon around 5pm.

It had the number '26' on the fuselage and was in the grey/red colour scheme. I managed a couple of pics but they do not show the registration.

Fingers crossed someone can identify her.

Many thanks to the crew for providing a moment of pleasure

Hiya, should be XV661, '26', of 771SQN at Culdrose.

Many thanks Gary Scott, that certainly looks like the beastie. I thought he might be dropping in to get some fuel, but he just came in from the West and did a reasonably fast (for a Sea King) along the grass runway in front of the runway. Great to watch but gave too little time to get a decent photo.

I think that was probably the crews attitude as well Dave Reid.

Not the finest pics I have taken but it was all a tad rushed as I wasn't expecting a Sea King fly by!!

Possibly even more of a pedant, it's annotated in my log book as an 'airframe number'. Flown in 1989. Swing that lantern.

:E :ok:
