On a lighter note, I was wondering (yeah, the pollution has got to me) who might be the longest continuous serving on-type pilots.

In other words, who has spent the longest, un-broken, time on their type in CX. I think the 330 was delivered in early 95 (late 94?), and the -400 was before that. I guess starting on the -400 and doing your command on the -200, and then going back to the -400 would count.

If you ever actually caught a 4 wire, that is as good as it is ever going to get for you. These CX gold wings are not nearly as impressive as those Navy wings. I sure hope you aren't actually ex-US Navy. You're making us all look bad.

MFL did a long time on the 747 but there are others………BTW there are many who started on the 747-200 in the 80's and have never flown an Airbus - some never the 777 but they have long gone.
Maybe - who has done the longest on a generic type - i.e. Boeing.

You've got pacific barons in QF who started on the 200 in the 70s and are 400ER captains never having flown any other jet but the 747, and done anything but longhaul.

I'd say they probably have the record.

Yes there are a few that have been on the 400 since it arrived in 1989.

Others that have been Airbus since 1996.

One of the -400 dinosaurs recently retired and was given some momento by Boeing for being the first pilot to have flown the "747" continuously for over 30 years.

If I go to 65 then I should achieve 30 years on the 777.

That's depressing...

There's an Airbus guy who joined at 20, he's looking at 45 years, think he's nearing 20 currently.

What a depressing career that we can't/don't move around from company to company for a change of lifestyle.

The koru relatively recently lost the last of their guys who joined aged 17 flying for TEAL on the flying boats, then DC-6, DC-8, 747, 744.
Not a single logbook entry that wasn't in a 4 engine aeroplane.
Now that's a career.

On the other side of the field, I know of a pilot who flew Gulfstrams for 40 years, he flew the G1,2,3,4, 450,5 and 550.

I can think of nothing worse than spending 30 years flying the same airplane. Your brain will rot. Actually, 30 years of flying airliners is in itself a sentence. I can't wait for the day to actually fly an airplane again. If you have to spend 11 to 15 hours flying straight and level, you might as well learn how to do it in a different airplane.
Maybe that's just me. You do know this job is killing us and it's not getting better.
