Now "should" means "must."

However, "The essentials of the Scheme are identified by use of the words ‘will’ or ‘must’. The
desirable features are introduced by the words ‘should’ or ‘may’."

I guess they're changing the AFTLS section of Ops A with a NTC...

Where is the section on managers working in the office all day before they start a duty. Oh that's right, they come under " Do as I say not as I do"

Pretty good Rod. Should be useful.

By trying to introduce another measure of 'control' they only serve to open more traps.

It's AMAZING how people all over the world have been successfully commuting for so many years without mass carnage, hysteria, and dogs and cats living together.

I've never encountered an employer anywhere ever who has deliberately made it so difficult simply to get to work. Give it the attention it's 'due.'

Just so I am clear, burning out on my FDP on the freighter is not rest for the remainder of the flight then? So we should be refusing all flights where any pilot burns out because it is not rest, instead it is PX'ing on the freighter.

Yes, that just about nails it BTK. Hypocrisy live and well in CX management. Great example to highlight, and one that the AOA should throw straight into the faces of our esteemed leaders. The longer i'm here, the more ridiculous this place becomes. If they want to dictate what i'm doing on my time off, they can pay me for my time off. Starting to get well and truly sick of these people. :yuk:

It'll be a cold day in Hell when I leave home the night before, stay in a flea-bag motel near the airport, get bitten by bedbugs and get crap rest because the maid is slamming the doors of all the rooms in the hall rather than drive two hours on cruise control from my home in order to supposedly be better rested before a flight! :ugh:

I guess it is a while since his Lordship tried to get rest in a HK apartment with renos going on nearby:

"On-board sleep cannot be guaranteed due to factors outside the pilot’s control such as light, noise and disruptive motion (e.g. turbulence)."

I would take my chances with a J Class snorer anytime rather than a honky jack hammer. By deduction, next time I cannot rest due to renos, crying kids, barking dogs or aircraft on a go around, I will not be sufficiently rested and must call in unfit.

So now it is stated that with a travel time more than 1.5 hours, you have to get suitable accommodation.

That makes no sense to me, don't we have 2:15 to get to the airport during a reserve call out?
That would also mean that someone in sai kung taking a bus to work, would first have to check into the headland hotel, before a duty?

Weird...

The Reserve callout requirement allows for 45 minutes from the call for sh!t, shower, shave and pack, and 1 1/2 hours travel time. It would certainly be worth noting 'management' pilot activity before their report at dispatch if one were able to.

Sounds like this lot are running scared of the lawyers, or setting themselves up for a 'mini 49ers': making sure all the squares are ticked, then firing a few pilots 'pour encourager les autres'.

I see bugger all chance of the HKPA increasing when experienced pilots are still joining. Managements thoughts are that if they are still coming, why should we pay more.

I'm sure the AOA will more than bring this out. Looks like they effectively killed any chance of 3-man anytime soon with their own NTC

In the mean time I guess pilots will be duty bound to refuse 3-man and asr-f it to comply with their own NTC.

Did someone proof read it before they issued the NTC?
Shoot " legally" and literally in their own foot!!

Probably written by the same she person who has no idea what the "FO" in "DFO" stands for.
The CX785/786 services today have been cancelled and we are waiting to see when the airport will reopen.

Sounds like one CP who said we should report ready for any duty fit and rested...like expecting to turn up do a TPE turn but instead do a CGK thru the nite
