Passing Lakenheath today at midday several F15s taking off but lots more spotters than usual.
Was something special due that I missed?
Update at 2050.
My wife found on her ipad and g**gle etc thet some A10s were expected but didn't turn up.

I thought all the A10's had been mothballed by now ? There was talk of getting some back because of their special ability and even a thread on pprune somewhere in the last year, where a Cornwall spotter thought they saw one flying around the countryside.

Supposed to be an A-10 at Yeovilton on Saturday. Where from?

Original plan: 12 A-10s transit from Romania-via-Germany for a TDY at Lakenheath for a few weeks. Scrubbed, as noted above.
Revised plan ( that I've literally just read ): two A-10s have in the past hour arrived at Yeovilton.
