Hi luciusatr!

Are you after a job with Precision Air or experience like a tourist?

2 different things! Should have thought about it before applying......:ugh:

This is purely from a passengers point of view travelling with them, a one hour flight would take over 12 hours by road, however, from experience, it's often quicker to travel by road, than to wait for them to show up. But then again, maybe I have just always traveled with them on the wrong days?!

Precision air is Tanzanias leading airline operator with a fleet of about 10. ATR planes.About 2 months back they recruited 30 locals pilots with a 50% sponsorship for type rating done in France. As an expat, the best you might be is a senior First Officer as Captain slots are usually for Tanzanians unless otherwise. They fly domestically within Tz and oout of Tz though main Base.In Daresalaam with Transport and accomodation allowances.....Well that's it...Karibu Daresalaam.

Does precision take on non type rated FO's?

If youll fund your own type rating:...you have high chances of being a firstofficer.

I know soneone type rated and experienced on ATR and trained om both 42/72 and still was not taken. They have a nasty habit if not honouring contracts.Better you show up in Dar with your vontract asap before they change their minds.Pay is not good and they make sure you are wirjed maximally. They are mire compliant with FDP limits these days Experience eill be good abd they follow ATR SOPs so if experience is what you want you will get it! Ig its tge wonderful beaches and safaris you are after...good luck..unless you want to go touring like an exhsusted zombie!!

Any truths about pilots hired recently with only type rating and no recent experience?
