Hoping someone here will be able to help me a bit. Currently doing an A320 type course and on the CFM engine at the moment.

I'm a little confused regarding HPTACC bleed air and where it comes from.

My understanding always was the bleed air came from the 5th and 9th stages on these engines, the AMM also says stages 5 and 9, however my course notes say its 4th and 9th!

Airbus and CFM notes say stage 4 and 9

the AMM also says stages 5 and 9

the AMM being the approved document

training notes have a disclaimer - for training purposes only not for reference

I'm well aware that the AMM is the approved document, I was simply asking could anyone shed some light as to where the other figure may have come from! I have figured it out now anyway, one is a 5A engine while the other is a 5B engine!

the point was training manuals can not always be relied upon.
